# Screen Content
1 Main screen time, date, current weather, 4-hour forecast, wind, pressure, humidity, top pollen, Biowetter summary, sunrise/sunset, AQI, UV index, daily min/max; hint tile below the clock, update icon at the top left, DWD warning button
2 Temperature curve temperature of the next 24 hours as a line chart (min/max, label every 4 hours), below it rain bars per hour with the total ("Regen: bis 1.2 mm/h, zusammen 3.4 mm" or "keiner erwartet"); rain bars can be switched off in the web UI, then the chart gets taller
3 Biowetter DWD Biowetter: 7 categories with icon, today and tomorrow each morning/afternoon, values as colored chips (no influence gray, positive green, slight load yellow, high load red)
4 Allergens pollen load of the 8 allergens (hazel, alder, ash, birch, grass, rye, mugwort, ragweed) for the next 3 hours and for 3 days
5 Warning map 1 DWD warning map of the federal state with location marker
6 Warning map 2 list of active DWD warnings as colored cards
7 Air quality AQI arc, PM2.5, PM10, NO₂, ozone (color-coded by EU limits), plus the next 24 hours as bars with the best time for airing, more values (sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, dust) and a tip (which pollutant drives the air quality, best time for airing and sport)
8 Sensors one tile per sensor (internal sensor, ESPHome/MQTT) with icon, value and status dot
9 Menu brightness, pollen/DWD warning, light/dark, version
– Pollen warning warning screen on high load of the selected allergens

Air quality in detail: the history shows the European AQI for the next 24 hours as colored bars (green good to violet extreme) with value and time; the first bar is the current hour. The best time for airing and sport has a thick outline: two hours between 6 am and 10 pm with the lowest mean of AQI and pollen load (one penalty point per 2 grains per m³, at most 30). More values are sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and dust (including Saharan dust) in µg/m³ with a rough color level for orientation. The tip names the leading pollutant, i.e. the one with the highest single index (everything up to 20: "Alles gut"), and the best time. The data comes from the same Open-Meteo request as before, no additional request is needed.

Navigation: main → temperature curve → Biowetter → allergens → warning map 1 → air quality → sensors → main (circular, also backwards). Warning map 1 ↔ 2 via the hub button, the home icons lead to the main screen, the gear to the menu.

The DWD warning button on the main screen appears as soon as warnings are active. Tapping it opens the warning map and acknowledges the warning (which also stops the blinking of the WetterAmpel).

Humidity, air pressure, moon phase and UV index

The wind arrow turns smoothly to the new direction and sways gently back and forth, further in stronger wind (about 6 degrees at 20 km/h, at most 15 degrees).

The tile at the bottom left shows humidity and air pressure with icons instead of captions (the number with "hPa" below it) plus a large trend arrow. The tile at the bottom right shows the moon phase at the top (icon, name and illuminated share in percent, for example "Zunehmende Sichel, 37 % beleuchtet"; the device calculates the phase from the date, eight phases from new moon to waning crescent) and below it the current UV index of the running hour, colored by level (green up to 2, yellow 3 to 5, orange 6 and 7, red from 8), with the level and the daily maximum, for example "mäßig, max. 6". The value in the line with AQI and particulates is the maximum of the next three hours instead.

Hint tile (sensor alarm, rain, frost, UV, heat, pressure, watering)

A colored tile below the clock on the main screen (as wide as the clock) shows the active hints. Long texts wrap onto a second line:

Hint Example Trigger
Rain "Regen in 25 Min.", "Regen noch 10 Min.", "Es regnet" at least 0.1 mm per 15 minutes within the next 3 hours (Open-Meteo)
Frost "Frost ab 03:00, -2 °C" 0 °C or below within the next 12 hours
UV "UV hoch (7), Sonnenschutz" UV index 6 or higher now or within the next 3 hours
Sensor alarm "Küche Luftfeuchtigkeit" and below it "71 %" a sensor is above or below its limit (see Sensoren)
Heat "Heißer Tag (28 °C, UV 7)" and "Rollläden und Sonnenschutz" daily maximum temperature from the adjustable threshold (default 27 °C) and UV 6 or more, by day from 7 am to 5 pm
Pressure "Luftdruck fällt schnell" and "-4.5 hPa in 3 Stunden" air pressure fell by 4 hPa or more in the last 3 hours (weather change)
Watering "Garten: Gießen lohnt sich" and "nur 1 mm Regen in 3 Tagen" April to September, under 3 mm rain in the last 3 days, less than 2 mm today and tomorrow, at least 18 °C; off by default

In addition the air pressure on the main screen shows a trend arrow (up green = rising, right gray = steady, down yellow or red = falling or falling fast), thresholds 1.5 hPa and 4 hPa in 3 hours. All hints can be switched on and off individually under Anzeige → "Hinweise auf dem Hauptscreen".

Operation: A new hint makes the tile blink. Tapping acknowledges it, after which the tile stays lit as long as the hint applies. If several hints are active, the unacknowledged ones are shown one after another (rain, frost, UV). After that the most important one stays visible (rain before frost before UV), and another tap switches to the next active hint. An acknowledged hint only blinks again after its condition has been gone for at least 20 minutes. Each hint can be switched off individually in the web interface. There is no full-screen rain warning (any more).

Weather icons

Animated (ESP32-P4 only): the large weather icon on the main screen and the icon of the night clock move: sun rays turn, clouds drift, rain and snow fall, lightning flashes. The images are pre-rendered (12 per second) and stored in the firmware, the device unpacks them live. Under display you can switch it off or extend it to the four hourly icons. On the ESP32-S3 the icons are static.

The icons (Meteocons by Bas Milius, MIT) distinguish day and night (sun or moon behind the cloud) and the intensity of rain, snow and thunderstorms: the heavier, the darker and thicker the cloud. This applies to the hourly forecast too, whose icons are chosen per hour for day or night. Mapping of the weather codes (WMO) from Open-Meteo:

Weather WMO code Day Night
Clear 0
Mostly clear 1
Partly cloudy 2
Overcast 3
Fog, rime fog 45, 48
Light drizzle 51
Drizzle 53
Light rain, light showers 61, 80
Rain, dense drizzle, showers 55, 63, 81
Heavy rain, violent showers 65, 82
Freezing rain or drizzle 56, 57, 66, 67
Light snow, snow grains, light showers 71, 77, 85
Snow 73
Heavy snow, heavy showers 75, 86
Thunderstorm 95
Thunderstorm with hail 96, 99

To look at them on the device: http://wettercube-fusion.local/demo?an=1&wmo=8 shows icon no. 8 of the list as the main icon and the next four as hourly icons, with &nacht=1 the night icons; /demo?an=0 restores the real data.
