Fusion/Einstellungen/en
Settings can be changed in two places: the web interface (http://wettercube-fusion.local) and the menu screen of the display (gear on the main screen).
Web interface
The page is sorted into tabs. The last opened tab is remembered, and a tab can be linked directly (e.g. http://wettercube-fusion.local/#sensoren). The button at the top right, "☀ Hell" / "☾ Dunkel" (light / dark), switches the design of the web pages; the choice is remembered in the browser (without a choice the browser setting applies). The web design is independent of the color theme of the display. The Sensors, Memory card and WiFi pages share the same navigation bar and design.
| Tab | Content |
|---|---|
| Anzeige (display) | display (brightness, dimming, night mode), hints on the main screen, temperature curve |
| Wetter & Daten (weather & data) | location & region, my allergens, warnings, Biowetter |
| Sensoren (sensors) | set up sensors (status), memory card |
| Smart Home | traffic light configuration, Home Assistant (MQTT), ntfy |
| System | change WiFi, firmware update, backup and restore, log |
The tabs Anzeige and Wetter & Daten share one "Einstellungen speichern" (save settings) button that stays visible at the bottom; "Ungespeicherte Änderungen" (unsaved changes) points out inputs that are not saved yet. The traffic light has its own save button.
The settings in detail:
| Area | Setting |
|---|---|
| Location & region | city (no umlauts), DWD pollen region |
| Warnings | pollen warning and DWD weather warnings on/off, pollen threshold: low / medium / high (default) / strong |
| Hints on the main screen | rain, frost and UV hint of the tile, each on/off (default: all on) |
| Temperature curve | rain bars below the temperature chart on/off (default: on; off: the chart gets taller) |
| My allergens | choose the allergens: the pollen warning, the pollen traffic light and the two pollens on the main screen consider only the selected ones |
| Display | brightness 10–100 %, dim timeout, day and night mode: off, fixed times (from/to) or after sunset until sunrise (start and end shiftable in minutes), own night brightness 0–50 %, separate switch for a dark theme at night |
| Biowetter (health weather) | DWD zone (A–K), weather sensitivity: 4 selectable categories for the Biowetter summary on the main screen |
| Traffic-light configuration | mode of the WetterAmpel (temperature / pollen (my allergens) / air quality) and temperature thresholds for green/yellow/red, with live display of what the light currently shows |
| Sensors | own page /sensoren: MQTT broker, internal sensor, select, name and correct external sensors (see Sensors)
|
| Settings backup | "Einstellungen herunterladen" saves all settings as a file (without the Wi-Fi password), "Wiederherstellen" restores it. Backups of the WetterCubePlus are accepted too |
| Wi-Fi | "WLAN ändern" to enter new credentials |
| Firmware update | show version, check for updates, install (see Updates), "Log ansehen" opens the diagnostic log in a new tab |
In addition /log (also via the button "Log ansehen") provides the diagnostic log (see Diagnostics) and /api/ampel the data for the WetterAmpel.
Menu screen on the display
| Element | Function |
|---|---|
| Brightness slider | sets and saves the brightness directly |
| Pollen warning / DWD warnings switches | turn the respective warning on or off |
| Light/dark switch | toggles between the light and dark color theme |
| Version label | shows the installed firmware version |
| System area (right of the settings) | Wi-Fi (name and strength), IP address, version with update state, free memory (internal and PSRAM), uptime, reason for the last restart, memory card, sensors and MQTT; refreshes every 2 seconds |
Defaults (after a fresh install that erased the flash)
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| Brightness | 80 % |
| Dim timeout | 3 minutes |
| Quiet hours (no warnings on the display) | off (with "fixed times" 22:00 to 07:00) |
| Sensor page: tiles per page | 12 |
| Home Assistant (MQTT) | off (topic prefix wettercube-fusion)
|
| Night mode | off (with "fixed times" 22:00 to 06:00, with "sun" 30 minutes after sunset until sunrise; night brightness 10 %, dark theme off) |
| Pollen warning / DWD warnings | on |
| Pollen threshold | high |

All settings are kept across firmware updates. They are only lost when the entire flash is erased (e.g. web installer or "Erase All Flash"). Tip: first use Einstellungen herunterladen; afterwards Wiederherstellen brings them back (only the Wi-Fi has to be set up again).
Quiet hours
Under Anzeige → Display you set quiet hours during which the display shows no warnings, so nothing blinks or lights up at night: off, fixed times (from/to, also across midnight) or same as night mode (same period as the night, only applies while night mode is on). During quiet hours neither the warning screens (pollen, ventilation) nor the hint tile or the "DWD Warnung" button appear, and nothing blinks. An open warning screen closes when quiet hours begin. If a warning still applies after the quiet hours, it is shown as usual. Phone notifications (ntfy) keep working; set their sound on the phone. Below the selection it shows which times apply and whether it is quiet time right now.
Day and night mode
Under Anzeige → Display you choose the night mode: off, fixed times (from/to) or after sunset until sunrise. In sun mode the night starts an adjustable number of minutes after sunset (default 30) and ends an adjustable number of minutes after sunrise (default 0, negative values are possible). The device gets the sun times with the weather data; while they are missing, the fixed times apply. Below the selection it shows which times apply today. At night the display is dimmed to the night brightness and only wakes up with the time of day. With the night clock (own switch) the display shows only a large, dimmed clock with date, weather icon and outside temperature at night instead of the main screen; tapping shows the main screen, after 45 seconds without touch the night clock returns, warning screens are not covered. A separate switch ("dark theme at night") also switches to the dark theme at night and back to the previous one afterwards; a change by hand during the night stays until the next transition.
Notification to your phone (ntfy)
ntfy is a free service that sends messages to your phone. Setup: install the ntfy app (Android or iPhone), tap "+" and enter a topic, ideally a long name that cannot be guessed (for example wettercube-k7x2m9q4). Enter the same topic in the web UI under Smart Home → Benachrichtigung aufs Handy; Testnachricht senden checks the path. The topic acts like a password and is not in the settings backup and not in the log. For protected topics or your own ntfy server there are the server address and access token (also only on the device). What is switched on under "Das wird gemeldet" gets sent, currently the sensor limits and the airing warning (titled "Sensor-Alarm: Küche Luftfeuchtigkeit", with value and limit) and, if you like, the all-clear when the value is normal again. Per sensor at most one new alarm every 30 minutes reaches the phone. Further messages (for example airing, DWD warnings) will use the same path later.
